The Awakening

The Sun has awakened the green into existence!  What a lovely walk around the garden beds today searching for the sprouts!  There is a quote by Albert Schweitzer that I have been pondering:  “No ray of sunshine is ever lost, but the green which it awakes into existence needs time to sprout, and it is not always granted to the sower to see the harvest.  All work that is worth anything is done in faith.”

Here are my thoughts as they come spilling out of my head!  The sunshine or light awakes green into existence which needs time to sprout.  The sunshine is never lost for it is at the core of the green that is coming to life that might not be visible to others.  Sprouting requires a lot of energy and some time to soak and grow and have the energy to expand and break through the seed shell.  Once it bursts through, the evidence of sunshine is witnessed and the life force energy propels the plant rapidly up and out of the ground!  Major growth occurs, plants develop and produce fruit to share or start new plants.  The green reminds me of new life, of growth, of healing.

I feel this symbolic connection to the earth.  For me, Jesus Christ represents the “sunshine”.  He awakens me, heals me, gives me the power and nourishment to sprout and grow.  Evidence of Him is seen in me as I am alive and reflect His light that is part of me.  I have written a poem that expresses this symbolic growth.  This could be applied to so many other aspects of our lives, not just spiritual!  What does this make you think of?  Positive affirmations?  Mantras?

I will awaken and arise from my slumber.

I will allow the light to enter and arouse my facilities!

I will burst forth from my encasing and stretch out my arms.

I will gather light and goodness and grow by continuing my journey!

I will share my gifts.

I am a light gatherer.

I keep truth.

I honor the light that has awakened me into existence.

I am sending you happy wishes for a lovely day!

Sunshine and sprouts,
